To introduce myself:
My name is Rob Lewis, I now head the company. I joined my father in 1982 and since brought a new dimension to the business
I was one of the first in the UK to pass the Technical Award in Lettings and Management which is a level 3 qualification, which is now a requirement for lapsed members of NAEA or ARLA to rejoin – foresight perhaps – or just enusuring future levels.
I have worked closely with City & County of Swansea in relation to the Private Rental Sector , and HMO type properties and hope that in future Licensing of Letting Agents will become a reality in Wales at least.
My father Michael founded the company in 1966 in his name after taking over an established letting, management and estate agents business, which I believe was founds in the 1930′s.
Our office is powered by our Property Management Co-ordinator Annette Grinter, who has been with us for the past eleven years and looks after the day to day contact with Clients and Tenants.
Having been letting agents in Swansea for so many years, we have seen many changes, not only in terms of the growth in the Private Rental Sector here in Swansea, but with the changes in legislation. There is need to know many property and housing laws if you are to run a lettings business. Many new agents just see the surface and offer low fees to gain instructions, but not necessarily have the knowledge to back them up and protect client’s interests.
Letting property is complex from the point that the unwary can easily trip up on legality issues. However, we have attained the knowledge to be able to deal with most situations and are more than able to give advice an all aspects of residential letting.
We are also able to let and manage Houses in Multiple Occupation properties in the Castle and Uplands wards of Swansea subject to local HMO requirements.
